MG motors India may be planning to launch the Baojun 510 as a competitor for the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and the Renault Captur. MG Hector will fit in the premium offering, where as the Baojun will be slight low priced than the Hector. Baojun and MG are brands under the SAIC umbrella. The MG Hector too is called Baojun 530 in some markets.
The SUV measures 4,220 mm long, 1,740 mm wide and 1,615 mm in height. It has wheelbase of 2550 mm and comes equipped with 45-liter fuel tank. The Baojun 510 is a five seater SUV.
Exterior looks are imposing, At the front end, it gets thin LED DRLs and LED projector headlamps. Furthermore, it gets a huge hexagonal grille with ceramic style border and a scuff plate. It also gets plastic cladding all around and dual tone alloy wheels. Floating roof effect and roof rails are the additional design tweaks.
The interiors of the Baojun 510 too are premium. It gets dual tone effect with black and brown colour. Some of its features include a 8-inch infotainment system. Herman infinity sound system. In addition, it also gets digital speed console. You can monitor details like fuel efficiency, distance to empty and also set trip meters in this console. The top trim of the Baojun 510 receives leather upholstery. In terms of comfort, it gets an automatic climate control AC. It is also packed with a sunroof, to make the cabin feel airy.
Under the hood of the Baojun 510 comes a 1.5 L petrol engine in the foreign countries. This motor is capable of producing 110 BHP at 5,800 rpm and 146.5 Nm at 3600 rpm. The transmission duties are undertaken by 6-speed manual transmission. MG motors may make the Baojun 510 available with a 1.5 L Diesel unit and an automatic option.
