Suzuki V-Strom 650XT launched.

Present year brought forward lots of bikes and there is addition of a new one from the Indo-Japanese bike manufacturer. Suzuki has launched the V-Strom 650XT ABS in India, which is a mid-sized version of the V-Strom 1000. This adventure tourer is a third bike to be assembled in India following the Hayabusa and GSX-S75. Suzuki claims it is capable for all kind and of terrains and it can do it all as well as rev the Highways for those long journeys.

On the launch, Satoshi Uchida, managing director, Suzuki Motorcycle India, said, “We are delighted to offer the ultimate adventure-tourer Suzuki V-Strom 650XT ABS to Indian customers as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) unit, assembled in India. Off late, motorcycles have evolved as an extension of its owner’s personality. Individuals are now ready to invest to get an experience they were longing for. With its all-round capabilities, the V-Strom 650XT ABS is the apt motorcycle for adventure enthusiasts who want to be able to ride the same motorcycle for daily usage as well.”

The styling elements glance similarly to its bigger sibling the V-Strom 1000. The front end gets a windscreen adjustable to three position. In addition, it gets anodized wire-spoked wheels with Battlax Adventure tubeless tyres. On offer is the 20 liters fuel tank and seating height of 835mm in addition it will also have LED taillamps. The bike is available in two colours viz. 1. Champion Yellow, 2. Pearl Glacier White.

Furthermore it receives new multi-functional instrument console, which will update the rider by the info of Speed, odometer, fuel level, gear position, battery voltage, coolant temperature, traction control modes.


Under the tank of the V-Strom a 645cc V-twin engine will make its space. Furthermore this motor is capable of producing 71HP and 62 Nm of torque mated with 6-speed transmission. Also a three-stage traction control system is going to fit inside the Vs-Strom. Inaddition, it also gets Suzuki Easy Start System which starts the engine with one-push button.

In India the V-Strom will compete with Kawasaki Versys 650 priced at 6.69 lakhs(ex-showroom). The Versys 650 receives power from a 645 cc liquid cooled DOHC V-twin engine producing 71 Hp at 8800 rpm and 62 Nm on torque at 6500 rpm.
