FZ v2 Overview.
The launch of the FZ was very surprising and grateful to Yamaha. The FZ started being famous and enticed buyers by the nude bike presence with chunky tyres. The superior build and sporty avatar were moreover the major contributing terms. The launching of FZ v2 surprised the buyers, because it got equipped with a fuel injection being an entry level sports bike.
The FZ v2 gets tweak in each and every part, but views a bit similar to the v1 without altering its overall proportions. The front now gets edgy and sharp headlamp and also the turn indicators look proportionate. What indeed helps it stand stylish are those digital graphics on the huge fuel tank and the short side skirtings. The side profile surveys macho and lean like an aesthetic body. The rear brings some disappointment for those who loved the chunky look of the tyre, because addition of a mudguard hides its appeal. The pin stripes on tyres also have made it see modern and classy. Overall the FZ v2 looks balanced and sporty in terms of appeal.
The biggest change to be noticed in FZ v2 is the instrument cluster with a large screen. It spotlights most of the features from the previous models. What I loved is the climbing Tachometer which likes to get raised. It gets an ‘eco’ light on the right corner. But Yamaha however haven’t provided the second trip meter and also losses out a clock on it.
Seating and Comfort.
What I would like to start is with the foot rests. They are really well positioned for both the rider and pillion. The impressive seating do not compromise in losing the comfort. The handle also is properly positioned at the exact place.
Yamaha has brought an all new blue core engine, which has lost around 1.5 Kgs than the previous motor and also increased its performance and efficiency. According to Yamaha the FZ v2 comes with a 14% hike in the mileage level. This motor develops 13.5 HP @8000 rpm and 12.8 Nm of torque @6000 rpm, gets equipped with 5-speed transmission. Also, the engine comes equipped with lots of sensors for proper injection of the fuel. The FI system also has conveyed more energetic tone at the exhaust than before. This engine feels more active in the low and medium end of torque. The motor feels punchy and also gives proper throttle response.
Yamaha claims it has done use of all new chassis, also the bike has reduced 3 Kgs from its previous version. The FZ is still fun to drive bike and produce you feel the power when catching speeds. Coming to the suspension part, they are tuned proper to perform you the pleasant feel. The tyres are too are big and chunky to hold you stable on the top speeds and also on the rough roads. You can also feel the commanding experience while riding this bike. The gear shifts are good and fast, they also play well while revving it high on RPM. The front gets a disk but something disappointing is the drum at the rear. I hope if Yamaha provided a disc it would be much better. But still the brakes are good enough to descend this bulky bike.
After testing the Yamaha FZ, I can conclude that, Yamaha has performed much better job than the previous version. The FZ presently gets all new makeover which looks striking and premium and grabs the eyeballs. Also, thefuel injection makes sense than the carburetor. Also, the Riding character is altered and made much better. Considering all these things, the FZ stands a worthier and smart choice.
