Honda2wheelers India launches the CB300R, a bike with Neo sport cafe DNA. This modern cafe racer has lots of features with a powerful ride. The CB300R has been inspired from the Honda 1000R which was first showcased in the Tokyo motor show 2017. Also, the CB300R will be the third make in India bike based on the CKD platform.
Honda CB300R Styling
The styling of the all new CB300R feels modern and compact. Upfront it gets a big round LED headlamp and LED turn indicators over the handle bar. Furthermore, the upside down big forks and the aluminium radiator along with the blacked out engine presents an aggressive fascia. Move aside and you may notice the all black steel frame and the raising exhaust gives it a premium appeal. The design looks more striking at the rear with the small LED tail lamp and the chunky tyre. In addition, it also comes packed with fully digital LCD display which views speed, engine rpm, fuel level, gear position and various warning lights. Currently, the bike is launched with two colours :- Matte Axis Gray Metallic and Candy Chromosphere Red.
Honda CB300R Engine
Powering this bike is the 286cc, DOHC 4-valve liquid cooled single cylinder engine producing 30 BHP at 8000 rpm and 27.4 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm. A 6-speed manual gearbox help you play with the speed and torque ratio. This is PGM-FI unit, with the two room structure inside helping it to increase the efficiency along with a powerful sound. Fuel tank mounted is 10 liters, where as Honda claims the bike to cruise more than 300 kms in a full tank.
Honda CB300R Ride Members
Underpinned with the CKD platform, Honda CB300R is the lightest bike in it’s segment. The brand new frame is combination of pressed and tabular steel and is anchored by press steel swing-arm pivot plates. Having a wheelbase of 1,344 mm it bears 2.3 m of turning radius. This lightweight bike also procure high power to weight ratio.
Suspension duty is carried out by 41 mm upside down forks at front and a 5-step spring preload adjustable mono shock at rear. Braking is carried out by 37.6 cu. cm disc at front and 30 cu. cm disc at rear and is modulated by two channel ABS. This ABS system works on first in class inertial measurement unit, which provides uniform front to rear distribution of ABS operation and maintains stability even while harsh braking.
Honda CB300R Cost
The CB300R has been priced aggressively and holds tag of Rs. 2.41 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). Bookings have started across exclusive dealership for Rs 5,000 and will be delivered post March 2019. The bike will be available only in 22 cities in the Honda Wing World dealership across India
Honda has also planned in reducing the maintenance cost with minimal usage of moving members in the Engine. Honda claims to have a development in the low friction piston rings, high density core radiator and iridium spark plug to improve fuel efficiency.
