The sub 4 meter SUV segment has gained lot of popularity in this preceding years. The segment was started by the Ford EcoSport but ruled by the MS Vitara Breeza. But, Mahindra has gone a level up to make the competition tough. By launching the XUV 300, Mahindra has entered the sub 4 meter SUV segment.
The XUV 300 is based on the Ssangyong Tivoli’s X100 platform. Dimension wise, this all new SUV measures 3990 mm long, 1820 mm wide and 1620 mm tall. Having the segment largest wheelbase of 2620 mm, makes your drive comfortable at the rear and also provides more space. Also, being an SUV, it gets ground clearance of 180 mm but is less than the rivals.
Mahindra XUV 300 Design
The XUV 300 is a cheetah inspired design. Upfront, it gets LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs flowing from headlamp upto the foglamps. Mahindra’s signature grille adds more sporty appeal and the bottom grille makes it look rugged. The design continues to be sporty at the side too. It gets plastic cladding, dual tone alloy wheels, roof rails and floating roof effect. Rear design stands to be an eye catcher, it gets LED tails and massive bumper design to make it look rugged.

Mahindra XUV 300 Interiors
Not only the exterior but the interiors too are classy and top notch. It gets a dual tone black and beige colour scheme. Mahindra has nailed it with the interior design along with a long list of first in class features. In terms of comfort, it gets leather upholstery and leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob. First in class dual zone climate control AC along with sunroof makes it a level up from its competitors.
A smart 17.78 cm touchscreen infotainment system is placed on the dashboard. It comes equipped with GPS Navigation, Bluetooth, AUX, Android Auto and Apple car play. A smart MID cluster unit makes you have a good hold on the functions of the car. It displays speed, fuel efficiency and lot of info. The XUV 300 is also loaded with different steering modes to handle it in the way you want.

Mahindra XUV 300 Safety
To make you drive safe, Mahindra has introduced lots of safety features. You get first in segment 7-airbags along with the knee airbag. All variants come equipped with ABS and EBD whereas the top trim gets hill hold control and corner stability with ESP. It also gets all four disc brakes, which is again a positive point. In addition, it gets rear parking sensors with camera, front parking sensors and heated ORVMs.

Mahindra XUV 300 Engine
The XUV 300 is available in both Petrol and Diesel engine option. The Petrol motor is a 1.2 L unit producing 110 BHP at 5000 rpm and 200 Nm at 2500 rpm. Another engine on offer is the 1.5 L Diesel producing 115 BHP at 3800 rpm and 300 Nm at 2000 rpm. Both the power trains are equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission. The automatic transmission is not available till date but may come with an AMT option.
