The Indian automobile manufacturer well known as Tata Motors has started presenting much more improved products. First they impressed the buyers by the Tiago, followed by the Tigor. Both this car grewed up Tata Motors, but the Nexon hold the charge to catch the attention in the Tata family. The Autoexpo 2018 made a crowd for the all new Tata H5X and is fantasy of each and every viewer. Tata Motors have officially realesed the name for H5X as “Harrier”. Harrier is also a name in the Toyota family for its SUV.
The Harrier will be launch in the 5-seater premium SUV segment to grab the likes of Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and XUV 500. And yes, it has started doing it to some extent. Harrier production based model has started its test and spied by most of the journalists. Officially, it will be revealed at the end of 2018 and will be available to buy at the start of 2019.
It is underpinned by an all new omega platform. This platform is developed in collaboration with the Jaguar Land rover. This is derived from Land Rover’s legendary D8 architecture.
The Harrier is based on the Impact design 2.0 philosophy. This design is eye catching and feels proper and well balance. The production model may receive some minor tweaks regarding the Headlamps and the scuff plate. The side profile may remain akin to the concept except the mirrors and the Alloys. It can feature a dual toned colour scheme and a sunroof. Moving toward the rear, the spy images display the black glossy groove intouch with the tail lamps. Hence, similar to the Nexon, the Harrier too may be much similar to the concept.
The interiors of Harrier will be futuristic and more advanced according to the Manufacturer. It may get dual pattern with a large touch screen in touch with the instrument cluster. Probably, it may also feature entertainment option for the rear passengers. Front and rear armrest remains exceptional.
Harrier will offer ABS, EBD and dual airbags as standard. The range topper can be equipped with hill hold control, brake assist, lane assist, cruise control and corner stability feature.
Fiat may source the SUV with the 2.0 L Diesel motor, which churns out 148 HP and 350 Nm of Torque. Probably, the Petrol engine is still under the curtain and one can expect it to be launch. 6-speed manual transmission will be the standard coupling for both the motors. Automatic transmission will be available and offered with 9-speed automatic transmission. The engines will get various driving modes and 4WD may be optional.
Harrier may hold its position between the price range of 12 Lakhs to 18 Lakhs.
