Tata Hornbill compact SUV teased

Tata Motors is going to showcase it’s all new compact crossover concept in the Geneva motor show 2019. Tata Motors have teased the front end of the car on their Instagram account. Hornbill was coded as X445 and will be placed below the Nexon in the Tata Motors lineup.

Similar to the latest Tata cars, the Hornbill will be based on impact design 2.0. The Hornbill will be rivaling the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and the Ford Freestyle. The concept model will highlight the design elements like, Tata signature humanity line front grille, floating roof effect and huge wheel arches. Also, the teaser displays the LED DRLS and the foglamps similar to the harrier.

Tata motors have described the Hornbill as ” Outstanding in quality, muscular but athletic, agile and sporty. Future design direction from Impact 2.0 design language at #GIMS2019.”

The Hornbill may receive projector headlamps, LED DRLs, diamond cut alloy wheels, 7-inch infotainment system with Harman powered speakers. Furthermore, it will also get steering mounted audio controls, reverse parking camera with sensors, speed sensing door locks.

In terms of safety, it will get dual airbags, ABS and EBD as standard and the top trim may receive corner stability, automatic headlamps and auto-dimming IRVM.

Under the Hood of the Tata Hronbill will be the 1.2 L Petrol engine capable to produce 84 BHP at 6000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm. It may also get 1.05 L Diesel motor churning out 69 BHP at 4000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 1800 rpm. Both the motors will be 3-cylinder unit and will mate with 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox.

The Hornbill will be kept between price bracket of 5 lakhs to 8 lakhs INR (ex-showroom Delhi) and make its debut in early 2020.
