Toyota has officially unveiled the Prius TRD Edition with hosts of cosmetic updates. The all new Prius TRD is based on the Toyota Prius 2019 facelift and was revealed at Los Angeles Auto Show. TRD edition has added more sporty and aggressive looks with hybrid technology.
Toyota Prius TRD Exterior
Looks wise the car look rugged and dominant with all the well bashed curves and edges. At the front, it get those sleek and triangular headlamps with a bulged out hood. Air vents on either side of bumper makes it look more edgy and the grille below gives it an aggressive appeal.
Move aside and you can notice the coupe roof line and bold windows. Also, each curve flows properly on the body. TRD elements also grab side skirts, roof mounted diffuser and door handle inserts. Moving the body are the 18 inch alloys with a detailed structure. The heavily updated rear gives it a more sporty appeal. You can notice the dual exhaust hold in sporty bumper and the LED tail lamps and a spoiler too.
Toyota Prius TRD interior
Toyota will be offering the TRD kit separately as accessories so as the customer can chose the parts. Customers can also choose colour of the kit they want. It will get a red start/stop button with TRD lettering, sunshade and a matching luggage box and lots of equipment.
Toyota Prius TRD Engine
Powering the car will be the same 1.8 L Petrol Engine producing 96 HP at 5200 rpm and 142 Nm of torque. The hybrid power train is capable of churning 71 HP and 163 Nm of torque. Also, the Hybrid motor will be mated with a CVT gearbox unit. The hardware of hybrid car has also been reworked by TRD. New worked hardware will improve the riding comfort and also perform better grip while cornering.
The new Toyota Prius will be on sale in early 2019.
